We are seeking an Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management) to join our friendly and busy Centre for Educational Partnerships in leading the overall management and coordination of educational partnerships on behalf of the University.


This leadership role will provide key support to the Head of Educational Partnerships in streamlining the day-to-day operations, resources, policies, procedures and longer-term planning within the Centre to implement the objectives of the University's _Educational Partnerships Strategy.

About the Role:


As Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management), you will play a key role in overseeing all aspects of Centre for Educational Partnerships owned processes and procedures for the management of programmes with partners, particularly in the areas of contract management and compliance across the partnership lifecycle, risk assessment and management, student numbers forecasting on an intake-by-intake basis, setting term dates and academic calendars, and supporting the University's professional services departments and academic Schools in the day-to-day running of academic programmes with franchise, validated, TNE and other educational partners and agents.


You will have responsibility for monitoring the performance of partner institutions/organisations through analysis of data and implementing processes for the collection and curation of data with partners, where required, for initial partner proposals, new business cases, new programme development, academic approval of delivery and actual student recruitment against set caps and targets, as well as planning and carrying out regular visits to partners for monitoring and other purposes.


This is an exciting time for the Centre for Educational Partnerships and the University as we finalise the implementation plan for our _Educational Partnerships Strategy_ and the Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management) will contribute to developing and implementing our framework for partner management, working always to foster good relations with current and prospective educational partnerships, while ensuring operational planning is effective and deadlines are met, both by partners and University departments and within the Centre team.


As part of your role within the Centre, the Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management) will serve as TNE lead for existing provision, as well as scoping further opportunities for international partnerships.

There will be opportunities to travel internationally, and the role will require regular travel to UK partners.

The role is hybrid and you will normally be expected to spend a minimum of 40% of your time at either the main University campus at Newton Park or Bath Spa University London, unless travel to partners in each week dictates otherwise.


About You:

You will be a proven leader with a positive approach to working within a fast-paced environment.

You will ideally have a strong understanding of the higher education environment and processes, as well as familiarity with the purpose and remit of the various regulatory bodies, such as the Office for Students (OfS), and experience of working within an academic quality or programme development context.


We are looking for someone with a strong approach to project management, with proven experience of establishing and maintaining effective systems and procedures and the ability to analyse problems whilst using your initiative in recommending appropriate solutions.

You must have a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team and be able to communicate, liaise and negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including academic and professional services staff, partner contacts, regulatory bodies, recruitment agents, etc.


You should be an effective line manager, with the ability to present yourself and the University to a variety of different audiences across sectors.

A key part of your role will be the ability to use discretion in handling confidential information and competing priorities and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders effectively, with a focus on building trust through a business partnering approach.


Additional Information:


You will normally be expected to spend a minimum of 40% of your time at either the main University campus at Newton Park, Bath, or at Bath Spa University London, unless travel to partners in each week dictates otherwise.

You will travel regularly to visit our partner institutions across the UK, with some international travel required.

Grade 8S - £42,978 to £45,585 per annum
