We have a fantastic opportunity for the role of a Marcomms Specialist to join the Marketing Team reporting to Marketing Communications Manager.

As a Marcomms Specialist you will be developing and implementing global marketing campaigns for new digital solutions and services.

Collaborate with digital and service portfolio management as well as customer marketing to communicate a vision for our new business ventures, build demand generation programs for new service launches and implement programs such as vertical marketing campaigns and account-based marketing.

The role is located at our headquarters within Slough site. Working Monday to Friday during normal office hours. (hybrid)

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
Work across several global roles such as Product/Service Management, Strategy, Digital Product Development, Energy Transition and Asset Management. Special projects may include work on new business ideation, market research, testing and development plans.

Significant cross-functional collaboration will be required, including:

  • Work with Customer Marketing and Regional Marketing Specialists and sales force to gain insights from the field.
  • Consult with Product/Service specialists to develop stronger value propositions based on insights.
  • Work with Product / Service Specialists and Marketing colleagues to develop new content such as customer case studies, or to implement Account Based Marketing plans.
  • Develop and manage proposition naming standards and trademarks with stakeholders and the Legal department.
  • Work with Head of Marketing Communications and Portfolio team to prepare strategic reviews for various executive level audiences, such as the John Crane CEO, and the Smiths CEO.
  • Work with Head of Customer Marketing and other Marketing and business colleagues to gather and synthesize customer intelligence using ongoing cadence of quantitative market research surveys and qualitative methods (Voice of Customer).


Localise campaigns through Regional Marketing Specialists and Sales Enablement, with targeted demand generation programs for proposition launches and implementations of programs such as vertical marketing campaigns or account-based marketing.

Utilize outside agencies and in-house resources where needed.

  • Develop buyer persona profiles and buyer's journeys.
  • Activate these buyer personas into all marketing product/service requirements, campaigns, service bundling/pricing recommendations.
  • Map marketing campaigns and programs to proposition development roadmaps while simultaneously pushing the development teams on market requirements for next generation innovation.
  • Consult and advise on customer needsdriven development for new business ventures.
  • Team with other Marketing Communications Managers to manage and distil John Crane's central repository for customer insights, content creation, and market and customer data collection.
  • Participate in ad hoc requests for various other initiatives, including M&A, marketing technology implementations, etc

The Individual

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of experience required;
  • Experience in B2B Strategic Marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of analyzing markets, persona, and buyer behavior.
  • Experience developing programs and launching new products, preferably in an industrial B2B environment, with both older products and new, digitally enabled technology such as sensors, software platforms or automation
  • Understanding of new business development concepts to market disruptive technologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with ability to plan over 13 year time span Must be able to think strategically, implement aggressively and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally in dynamic and flexible environment.
