We support the UK Ministry of Defence in their work to protect our people, values and interests by delivering and maintaining its strategic infrastructure needs.

We are looking for Engineers to join our defence sector, which includes a contract at a facility near Reading.

This is also open to Apprentices who are working through their qualifications and will be supported in their development requirements


The role will be a key part of the Project Management Area Teams as we look to obtain bulk construction completion and handover the area to the operator.


This role will cover all non-Mechanical and Electrical supply aspects of the scope including RC, doors and Process Plant and Equipment.

Flexibility to be offered as part of co-ordination between the 2 Engineers for each area ensuring at least 1 person is always on site.


The roles require Security Clearance at SC level with some to DV level, therefore the ability to obtain clearance is essential; 5 years continuous residency in the UK and UK Citizenship is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review of all available documentation and drawings to gain an in depth understanding of the works involved
  • Ensuring all required Work Packs are in place prior to works commencing on site
  • Supporting the Construction Manager in ensuring adherence to the Programme
  • Supporting the Construction Manager and owning and developing own short term Cell Programmes
  • Interaction with various stakeholders, client, designer, engineering, commercial etc. to ensure the timely close out of constraints and blockers
  • Attendance at Construction Sequencing sessions and supporting the coordination of activities on site
  • Direct engagement with supply chain site teams to ensure works can progress
  • Monitoring and reporting against progress
  • Ensuring compliance with all Work Pack Documentation for a right first time outcome
  • Weekly reporting against progress and review of forecast works to be completed across the following 4 weeks

About you:


  • The ability to understand the scope of the works and can identify change
  • Able to promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement, driving innovation, adopting best practice, standard processes and procedures
  • Must hold a CSCS card
  • SMSTS or equivalent is preferred
  • Security Clearance at SC or above already held is preferred
  • Prior experience in Defence/High Assurance Level projects is preferred
  • Lifting AP beneficial
  • TWC beneficial
