This role leads the scheduling and slot planning teams to build schedules that are cost effective, operationally robust and protect our slot portfolio.


The schedule development process has centre stage in transforming the end to end process, enabling accurate planning of people and operations.

The schedule design needs to support both the drive for improved 'On Time Performance' and utilisation of our aircraft assets.


Building feedback loops is important to ensure the schedule is integrated into the wider planning process and where necessary adapts to the latest formation.


Your success will depend on analytical capability, leadership skills and excellent relationship building across the many areas of the business that the schedule touches.


Skills / capabilities

  • Ability to influence to director / COO level and externally with HAL/ACL
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and challenge the outputs of complex analyses, ensuring findings and recommendations are robust
  • Excellent people management, organisational, teamworking and project management skills
  • Demonstrates resilience, and works calmly and effectively under constant time pressures, always seeking to maintain exemplary standards.

Qualifications / experience

  • Numerate degree or equivalent numerical proficiency, proven in a similar role
  • Excellent understanding of the endtoend schedule planning and schedule clearance process
  • In depth knowledge of overall airline planning process across engineering, crewing, ground resourcing commercial, the IATA slot management process and airport planning
  • Understanding of BA network and fleet, markets and competitors
