Immersive

This role is part of Real Immersive, a "tech for good" world class immersive centre primarily located at the Market Hall, Plymouth.

Real Immersive provides specialist facilities, space, activities, and opportunities to engage people with the potential of immersive technologies, supporting them to develop skills, make content and sell products, growing businesses, and creative careers.

Real Immersive is a lynchpin in the Far SW Immersive Cluster, a key player in the local ecology and is developing related immersive facilities at Liskeard Library.

Job Purpose

The Venue and Events Lead plays a key role in the Immersive team, developing our space and services to ensure Market Hall is a welcoming, immersive tech space, always delivering excellent customer experience, underpinned by efficient, effective systems, processes, and procedures.

The Venue and Events Lead will work closely and flexibly with other members of the Immersive team, to ensure the overall success of Immersive and maximise opportunities for shared learning, innovation, and growth.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Within the Real Immersive team, oversee the management of the Market Hall as a venue, ensuring the café, spaces, meeting rooms, and other facilities are well run, well used, open to the local and business communities, and financially sustainable.
Oversee large events organised by members and with others in the Real Immersive team, plan and deliver our own large events.
Take overall responsibility for the delivery of an excellent and financially viable café at Market Hall, overseeing the management and training of supervisors and customer experience hosts, ensuring they always deliver excellent customer experience, creating value for members and everyone who uses the Market Hall, enhancing customers' immersive experiences.
With others in the Real Immersive team, continually develop the physical layout, look, and feel of Market Hall as an immersive tech centre, making sure it is attractive to and works equally well for all users, including immersive professionals, the public and everyone who is a member of Real Ideas.
Effectively manage budget and resources to ensure immersive spaces are financially viable and contribute to the overall profitability of Real Immersive.
