A brilliant role for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join a business on the outskirts of York on a permanent, full-time basis.

Alongside a salary of up to £27,000, on offer is 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), study support, healthcare options, generous pension contribution and attractive working hours This role can also be done on a hybrid basis (2-3 days from home/office).


Working with the wider Finance Team and reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a new role in Sales Ledger and Credit Control.

You will be responsible for the sales ledger in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations. This role requires a detail-orientated individual who can prioritise and multitask with strong communication skills.

Key responsibilities for the Sales Ledger Assistant will include:

  • Validate, enter, and process customer invoices and credit notes
  • Prepare batch processing reports within MS Excel
  • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate posting of invoices and credit notes
  • Reconcile customer accounts in both local and foreign currency
  • Credit Control duties
  • Reconciliation of A/R ledger and the issuing of monthly statements
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with audit requests
  • Other ad hoc duties, as required
To be successful in this Sales Ledger Assistant role, you will ideally have/be:

  • AAT Level 2 qualified and/or have 2+ years relevant experience, specifically in Sales Ledger
  • Computer literate and be confident using various accountancy packages, including being intermediate in Microsoft Excel
  • Good communication skills and confident speaking with people, both internal and external to the business
  • Experience working with high volume invoices and working to tight deadlines


This role would be an excellent position for an Accounts Administrator, Finance Admin, Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer looking for a new opportunity, as well as a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, Sales Ledger or Accounts Receivable Clerk.


This role is commutable from York, Sutton-on-the-Forrest, Haxby, Earswick, Huntington, Stillington, Sheriff Hutton and surrounding areas, with onsite parking available.

Ideally you will be able to drive and with your own transport however, the business is on a bus route and hours can be flexible to suit this.
