Catering Assistant - Birmingham, United Kingdom - Norfolk House School
Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, cooking, and assembling dishes.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
- Assist with the setup and serving of meals during lunch service and special events.
- Champion allergy awareness by carefully monitoring ingredients, labeling, and crosscontamination risks.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring of supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures, including proper handling and storage of food.
- Ensure compliance with the school's Health & Safety policy, COSHH regulations and all statutory health and safety requirements, and ensure that these are observed by all other members of staff and visitors. Where necessary or if a concern is raised, notify Headmistress.
- Ensure that provided workwear is clean and correctly worn whenever working on the school site
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Pay:
£13.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
