  • £45,000 depending on experience

The Oratory School is an HMC Co-educational independent Roman Catholic day and boarding school for pupils aged 11-18.


We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and highly capable individual to join our team as Head of Admissions and Marketing to enhance further the school's excellent reputation locally, nationally and internationally.


About the role:


The successful applicant will bring together the Admissions and Marketing teams to drive process and procedure efficiencies, setting the highest quality and customer service standards.


You will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and responding to key market trends in pupil recruitment
  • Developing campaigns and communications across multiple marketing channels
  • Managing a team across the disciplines of admissions and marketing and their appraisal and development
  • Producing regular management reports for the Governors on all aspects of the school's admissions and marketing programmes and presenting these to Governors at Board meetings
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge of the provision and initiatives at competitor schools, to inform strategic discussions
  • Coordinating and implementing departmental plans and the associated budgets
  • Leading the school in all aspects of its admissions and marketing functions, acting as an ambassador for the school where appropriate, and for the external relations function itself within the school and beyond
  • Admissions:_
  • Leading and guiding the Admissions Department in pupil recruitment
  • Working closely with the Admissions Team, specifically the Registrar to ensure that Marketing and communications supports and enables their function. In addition, at busy key events they will also attend, support and play a Front of House role
  • Providing guidance in respect to building relationships with prospective parents, standards of service, customer experience and engagement, communication, data capture and promotional events
  • Remaining informed about the market and competition
  • Liaising with the Bursar to produce financial models based on projections for pupil numbers and producing updates of any changes
  • Producing data on current and anticipated pupil numbers, updating any changes
  • Overseeing of all matters related to compliance in education
  • Marketing:_
  • Managing and overseeing the school's strategic external relations plan in line with the overall school strategic plan
  • Monitoring and reporting all highlevel metrics, proactively using data to devise appropriate interventions where required, revising strategies and tactical marketing and communications plans as required
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of the school's brand guidelines, providing overall editorial and design control across all communications and advertising
  • Overseeing the production and distribution of all marketing communications
  • Advising on (and supervising) the production of promotional material by all departments and school staff and for specific events, ventures or activities, including utilising the appropriate social media to promote and market the school
  • Managing and delivering an effective digital and social media strategy to include the school's website, with responsibility for its continual evolution, update and ongoing accuracy

The ideal Head of Admissions and Marketing:

You must be a charismatic leader who is able to communicate a passion for the school, whilst also working collaboratively with all stakeholders both internal and externally.

Your ability to lead the admissions and marketing functions will hinge on your energy, optimism and attention to detail.

Your written and verbal communication skills must be excellent. This will be supported by your strong IT skills, which extend to your solid understanding of Excel.

Meeting deadlines is crucial in this role so your organisational, interpersonal and team working skills will be key. Being proactive and forward thinking will help you and the team be successful.


Experience and qualifications:


  • Educated to degree level or significant experience in this field
  • Experience of managing an admission team within the higher education sector is desirable
