And we're making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here's where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our insurance team and develop greater knowledge about insurance.

In this role you will contribute to the development of a best in class Insurance service that will serve as a centre of excellence for the Council.

You will assist colleagues responsible and accountable for a portfolio of claims from both internal and external customers on less complex claims.

To actively support the Council's risk management philosophy by promoting best practice in managing risks recognising that insurance is not the full solution to protecting the Council's activities & assets.

You will be able to assist in handling, investigating and negotiating settlements up to £10,000 ensuring claims are managed in a cost effective manner.

About You
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and a creative thinker.

You should be adaptable and able to prioritise your workload whilst working both independently and as part of a wider team.

You should have good written and oral communication skills including the ability to assist with the production of technical reports and provide clear explanations of complex issues.

You should have knowledge of investigating and negotiating claims settlement for both property damage and personal injury claims, preferably within a Local Authority, Social Housing or Insurance Company environment.
