You will engage with all the relevant stakeholders to review if the Data Centres are fit for purpose in terms of location, security, resilience, overall risk exposure, geographical spread, redundancy, cost, overall management, uptime, potential to reduce environmental factors (power, cooling, carbon footprint), contract terms and growth potential.

You'll have a minimum of 5 years Systems Management experience and also Cloud (MS Azure preferred) experience and, flexibility to travel is also a must for this exciting position.

Location:

Remote, located in the UK or Dublin with some travel to Hinkley or Dublin Office, additional travel around Europe to various Data Centres and site locations will be required.

Some global travel to the US and other locations.


Hours:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing several Data Centre's in Europe to evaluate what consolidation activities are feasible both from a Data Centre and System perspective, compile a business case to support this. This may grow to other nonEuropean locations over time.
  • Review the capacity requirements and Systems across multiple Data Centre's to identify any synergies.
  • Presenting Data Centre related business cases to Senior Management for review and sign off.
  • Responsible for carrying out security assessments. Coordinates and report on the results of penetration testing, proactively identifies and mitigates both internal and external threats to DP Worlds information landscape and assists in the development of security checklists.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in relation to all Data Centre activities including project management and serve as an escalation resource for all Data Centre needs.
  • Ensure integrity and availability of critical Data Centre environments through continuous assessment of backup operations and BCDR plans.
  • Responsible for creating and maintain standards, policies, and procedures within the Data Centre Systems, aligning with group tech standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Data Centre aspects of bids and launches are coordinated within a standardized format to ensure stability across all new customer sites.
  • Responsible for managing the current, and advising on the future, direction of all Data Centre activity, including capacity planning, documentation, and ensuring high levels of availability to meet service level expectations.
  • Responsible for Data Centre vendor relationships and consulting including technical quote configurations, pricing negotiations, and support/maintenance contracts.
  • Ensure all Data Centre hosted businesscritical systems have multiple levels of redundancy, implementing full HA/DR, which is tested and proven, removing single points of failure.
Skills and Experience

  • A combination of equivalent professional training and certifications combined with a minimum of fifteen years related work experience in a position(s) with increasing responsibility and supervisory duties may be accepted.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Requires a strong technical IT background (10+ years' experience) with broad experience across a wide range of technologies including Enterprise Infrastructure, Cloud, Data Centre, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Blade Server technology, SAN Storage, Linux Servers and supporting technologies.
  • Real world hands on experience of carrying out Data Centre consolidation activity, both in terms of the overall number of Data Centres and also the infrastructure footprint within the Data Centres.
  • Vendor management globally including AMR, Europe, APAC.
  • Demonstrate broad experience working with various Data Centre Systems, Cloud and Security technol
