About the Department:

The Computing Department is central to Goldsmiths' interdisciplinarity, frequently leading on initiatives and enjoying joint research and teaching with other departments across the university.

Our growth is built on a view of computer programming as a creative discipline that draws support from, and strengthens, a range of intellectual disciplines.

This ethos deeply affects everything we do:
from research to public engagement, to work with industry, and to our teaching.

We believe that this makes us a unique place to study computing and an exceptional computer science environment in which to work.

About the Role:

This post is for an Apple Systems Administrator within an existing technical support team and, with that team, would ensure the smooth-running of teaching, technical support, and IT equipment management within the department.

The position holder is expected to be responsible for managing the department's fleet of computers, and to support, maintain and develop the backend systems to enable this.

You will work closely with technicians and academics to support the delivery of teaching and research within the department.

You will have a high level of knowledge about, and experience of configuring and managing computers to a high standard, preferably at scale.

Experience of using software management systems, creating packages for deployment, and managing software licensing.

With a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects to a deadline, you will be proactive, and able to work effectively both independently on your own initiative, as part of a larger team of technicians.
