We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a new role in our business to manage and assess the progress of our upskilling program for car mechanics to become heavy vehicle maintenance and service technicians.

This role is a high visibility opportunityto contribute to the growth and expansion of our business in the Bus and HGV fleet maintenance sector.

Working closely with the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI), we have developed an innovative program that combines recruitment and training to source and train keen upskillers for our clients.

We have a number of existing household name clients who want to expandour service, and we are seeking someone who shares our passion for training and developing ambitious and committed learners to join our high-energy team that spans our technical recruitment and technical training businesses.

The purpose of the role is to manage the assessment of upskillers as they progress through the program, support them with learning related queries and sign off on their work portfolios and written exams.

The upskilling programs last 12 months, and each upskillermust progress through a series of scripted on the job training interventions and online learning modules to successfully complete the program and receive IMI accreditation.


Responsibilities include:

  • Working with team members to input into the build of new training packages for existing and new clients
  • Setting up new upskillers on the OneFile and Electude systems
  • Managing and tracking the learning progression of upskillers
  • Proactively instigating corrective action with any upskills who fall behind in the program schedule
  • Assessing upskills portfolios against program standards and qualifications
  • Managing the scheduling and invigilation of exams and marking examination scripts
  • Managing the appeals process
  • Liaising with Internal Quality Assurers to ensure compliance with awarding body standards
  • Participating in regular face to face client reviews
  • Participating or leading the delivery of highquality training programs to a wide range of customers and learners as we expand the upskilling service into other sectors.

The following experience and qualifications are required:

  • Relevant automotive qualifications
  • D32/D33, A1 or TAQA equivalent
  • Maths and English
  • Full driving license
  • DBS checked
  • Training material design and delivery experience
  • Relevant trainer and assessor qualifications.
