What you'll do:


Leading a shift within the Security Operations Centre, you'll assess, triage and respond proactively and effectively to security related threats, incidents, requests and events to defend assets, information, and systems from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction.


You'll be collaborating with internal and external colleagues, specialists and stakeholders to make sure activities relating to incident response, user access, alert monitoring, root cause analysis and scenario planning are completed in line with standard operating procedures and to a high standard.


You'll also:

  • Contribute to root cause analysis on security incidents, conducting training along with scenario planning to prepare for and anticipate future events, maintenance of operational documentation, and report generation
  • Provide advice during an incident response and any subsequent reviews
  • Demonstrate assurance of security posture through monitoring security system status
  • Ensure decisions made are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management
  • Encourage identification of ideas and drive the delivery of initiatives that will reduce cost and simplify the Group
  • Build and leverage relationships with colleagues across the Group, and where appropriate third parties, to ensure decisions made are commercially focused and create long term value for the organisation

The skills you'll need:


You'll need good communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly to your peers and management level colleagues.

You should also have good collaboration and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to write technical issues in business terms.

We're looking for someone with security incident and event management experience, along with good knowledge of transmission control protocol and internet protocol.


You'll also need:

  • The ability to manage a shift within critical 24/7 operational service using analytical skills and strong problem solving capabilities
  • A strong understanding of security controls and incident escalation within an enterprise scale environment
  • A background in cyber security and experience in security operations, including incident and event management experience, networking protocols routing, and malware analysis techniques
