Grafton Banks Finance is working with a growing consumer services business to find its new Financial Controller.

This business is growing organically and through acquisition and its clients include many well-known brands.

The Financial Controller role will report into the CFO and will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function including all externalreporting requirements and working with the wider business on commercial accounting matters.


We are looking for a qualified accountant and an experienced Finance Manager or Controller who is looking for their next challenge.

Ideally you will be experienced working in an SME, and you must possess strong team management skills.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the statutory reporting process, including setting timetables and providing guidelines to operational finance staff in the UK and overseas.
  • Maintain accounting policies across the business.
  • Ensure all reporting to investors is delivered in a timely and accurate fashion including weekly flash reporting.
  • Liaise with statutory auditors to discuss and resolve queries as they arise and ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Be responsible for the short and mediumterm term cash flow forecast.
  • Provide management accounting.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of required reports for HMRC including, but not limited to, quarterly VAT Returns and P11ds.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll, pension, and group employment benefits provision.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective running of credit control, accounts payable and bookkeeping functions within the team.
  • Mentor and develop Finance team members, conducting regular appraisal reviews in accordance with Company policies.
Salary range for this role is £70, ,000 + benefits.

Initially you will need to work full time in our clients offices in Hove before moving to a hybrid working model once established in the role.
