Background of Department/ Role

  • The Directorate of Marketing and Communications provides efficient and effective admissions, planning and academic administrative services that are aligned to the University's strategic aims, underpinned by a strong customer focus and delivered across all our campuses and partnerships increasingly on a 24/7 basis.
  • Within this Directorate, Applicant Services delivers a highquality service to applicants, their advisers and the University community.
  • Within the institution, our commitment is to work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments in providing advice, information and support in all aspects of the student journey.

Admissions and Applicant Services is responsible for:

  • Operating fair, transparent and responsive admissions and selection policies to deliver an excellent applicant experience.
  • Managing admissions processes to achieve agreed student number recruitment targets.
  • Providing professional advice on all applicant activities including to those parts of the University that have delegated responsibility in these areas.
  • Planning and managing confirmation and clearing.

The Role


This role is responsible for ensuring that all external course data, including entry requirements and vacancy listings for UCAS is complete and accurate.


The post holder will consult with key stakeholders to aid them setting up and creating automated communications within the student record system.


  • The post holder will work together with colleagues across Admissions, Marketing and Communications and Planning and Academic Administration to support and deliver key activities such as Clearing and Registration.

The Person


You will have experience of working with a Student Records system or equivalent and be able to diagnose and resolve issues confidently and be adept at processing a large volume of data.

You are able to work in a team to ensure high levels of accuracy and provide excellent customer service. You will have an awareness of the current issues impacting Higher Education. You will have a flexible attitude and can work effectively under pressure.
