Position:

Job Specification:


The above will be expected to work as part of a team ensuring the receipt, storage and preparation for customer delivery of our services centred on white goods & furniture.

The post requires that you become familiar with all aspects of operations within Second Opportunities and committed to the environmental objectives of the organisation.

**Hours

  • This position is paid 39 hours No timewasters Please.**
    Skills Required:
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in warehousing, & White Good Appliance Installation
  • Furniture handling skills
  • Some experience in furniture assembly and repair
  • Experienced and troublefree commercial driving history

Duties

  • To help take delivery by unloading and checking of delivery lines.
  • Ensure the correct storage of deliveries and donations.
  • Participate in the uplift and delivery of donations of furniture as required through the furniture recycling service.
  • The picking of goods including selecting for orders, lifting, carrying and transporting either for loading onto company or customer vehicle.
  • Loading of white goods/furniture onto vehicle ensuring all items are tied and stored in a manner which ensures it will not be damaged in transit or act as a safety hazard.
  • Prepare white goods for display including Inspect and identify any repairs or cleaning required, washing down, etc.
  • To help with the cleaning and tidying of the workshop, assembly areas, company vehicles.
  • To always be helpful where possible to customers and conscious of being an integral part of our customer care package.
  • To be fully aware of the Organisation's Health & Safety Policy ensuring that your own personal safety and those that you work with are never put at risk, and also following all Second Opportunities policy and procedures.
  • To be fully aware of the Organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy, Environmental Policy and Green Building Action Plan.
  • Other duties appropriate to the post and in line with the needs of the organisation and as specified by the Project Manager

Job Types:
Permanent, Full-time


Salary:
£10.90-£11.90 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

- delivery driver: 1 year (required)

- driving: 3 years (required)
