Payroll & HR Officer

Coalville, Leicestershire

Full time & Permanent

£32,000 - £35,000


SF Recruitment are working on an exclusive basis with an outstanding company who are seeking a Payroll & HR Officer to join the team on a full time & permanent basis.

As the Payroll & HR officer you will be responsible for processing monthly payroll and maintain accurate payroll records within the deadlines required.

You will also manage the Company pension scheme and associated payroll schemes.

Other duties as the Payroll & HR assistant include general Finance and HR office duties, ensuring the Company operates and produces records in line with legislation and statutory requirements.


Duties include:


  • To complete required payroll compliance checks.
  • To make PAYE payments to HMRC.
  • To provide monthly payroll reports and journal entries for inclusion in the management accounts.
  • To deal with employee related pay queries.
  • To manage the Company pension scheme and all associated payroll schemes.
  • To prepare relevant staff correspondence.
  • To liaise with HMRC on payroll matters, prepare and support HMRC audits.
  • To prepare calculations related to payroll / absence for inclusion in the management accounts, for example the monthly holiday pay accrual.
  • To manage the Company absence records, including holiday and sickness records.
  • To assist with the recruitment, selection & onboarding of staff.
  • To assist managers with their HR requirements as required.
  • To support the development of the performance management system / appraisals.
  • To provide support and guidance on the Company's policies and procedures.
  • To support management with all statutory payments and flexible working, etc arrangements.
  • To provide support on the HR database and personnel records.
  • Support management with interviews with employees returning to work from sick absence.
  • To liaise with employment lawyers as needed.
  • To keep up to date with relevant legislation and ensure all policies are up to date.
  • To provide support to the Finance Department as required
