This is an exciting time to join the Cardiology Department at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Cardiology Investigations Department offers a full range of non-invasive cardiology investigations, pacemaker implants, echocardiography and a brand new cardiac catheter lab.
We are seeking a Senior Cardiographer to join our friendly team performing ECGs, fitting and downloading ECG holter and blood pressure monitors, and assisting with exercise tests.
The postholder is also expected to help manage bookings in conjunction with our admin and clerical team and be responsible for ECG stock control.
Applications are invited from experienced Cardiographers who hold the SCST certificate in Electrocardiography (or equivalent).

- To undertake the recording and interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECGs), within the department and throughout the hospital as required.
- The post holder will undertake a competencybased training and assessment programme within the department for ECG and be able to demonstrate recognition of the main cardiac arrhythmias and basic electrocardiography instrumentation and troubleshooting technical faults.
- The post holder should hold the Society for Cardiological Science and Technology Certificate in Electrocardiography or equivalent inhouse assessment.
- To provide explanation and reassurance to patients undergoing routine noninvasive cardiac investigations and to assist patients with dressing and undressing.
- To fit and remove 24 hour ambulatory ECG and BP monitors.
- To fit and upload/download and report event recorders
- To assist cardiac physiologists with exercise ECG testing
- To undertake preventative maintenance of ECG and ambulatory ECG recorders and exercise testing equipment
