Job Title - Night Trunk Driver.


This is a varied role to help cover our trunking network, located in Ashby de-la Zouch, travelling to Carlisle every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, Driving a Long Wheel Base 3.5t Van.

27 hours per week with the opportunity for overtime.

Work activities & Responsibilities


Your duties include:

  • Undertake a daily inspection of vehicle
  • Ensure that the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition in line with departmental requirements.
  • The safe delivery and collection of goods to and from Carlisle
  • To correctly use scanners to accurately scan consignments on an adhoc basis as and when directed by site management.
  • Ensure the safe use of pallet trucks when loading a vehicle as per the safe operating manual located on site
  • Ensure effective communication with both internal and external customers, escalating any queries to site management in a timely manner.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulations and the safe use of the national road network in line with the road transport laws and regulations
  • Ensure strict adherence to both onsite and offsite Health and Safety Regulations at all times, reporting any breaches to site management immediately
  • Any other reasonable duties that site management may request as required and at short notice in line with business requirements


You should have excellent geographical knowledge & ideally you would have some knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practices) & MHRA Guidelines along with vehicle safety.

Skills, interests and qualities

  • Ability to be flexible on start/finish times at short notice.
  • Good selfmotivational & organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.

From £16,497.00 per year
