The Commissioning Team has an exciting opportunity for a full time Placements Commissioning Officer post offered on a fixed-term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that helps improve the lives of children, young people and their families across Derbyshire.

The Commissioning Team works with a whole host of departments across Children's Services to help design services, source external providers and monitor the quality, effectiveness and cost of those services.

One of the main functions of this rewarding role will be integral in helping to provide a positive impact on the lives of children in care.

You will work with Social Care who will identify a child's needs via referral forms and then approach the external market via a Framework of already commissioned providers to find appropriate homes and families for children in care.

You will also work alongside other team members to help contribute to the monitoring of those services and chart the success of individual child outcomes.

The role requires an emphasis on communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail, organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and an understanding of systems used for recording information such as Mosaic and Excel Spreadsheets.
