Description

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, accurate collection and submission of data within the clinical information remit, liaising with clinical teams, providing day to day management support to the clinical information team and liaising with the Trusts clinical leads for the relevant information standards.


The post holder will be responsible for the provision and development of comprehensive performance management and data interrogation for clinical information that meet current and future needs.

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Information Lead within the Clinical Information Department, at St Helens & Knowsley Hospitals Trust.

This is an 12-month fixed term/secondment post.


We require a highly motivated, team player with excellent communication skills in order to negotiate with and motivate all members of the team to ensure audit and data needs are met.

The post holder will be required to work on his/her own initiative and plan own workload and workload of the Cancer Information Team accordingly.


The post holder will work closely with and deputise for the Clinical Information and Data Quality Manager on the provision of timely and relevant performance management and data interrogation.

You will play a key role in scoping, producing and providing analyses to clinicians and the care groups.

KEY DUTIES

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the relevant clinical information standard areas, for example, cancer information, NJR, etc.
  • Build on work already established and lead on clinical information projects and initiatives, such as Cancer, within Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in line with national and local priorities.
  • Ensure there are robust processes in place to identify all patients admitted to the Trust for the clinical information projects under the Corporate Information Department remit.
  • Ensure that all data is captured for all clinical information projects under the Cancer Information Department remit, such as, Cancer Waiting times, National Audits, and that accurate data is submitted and reported.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all pathways related to the clinical information projects under the Cancer Information Department remit,
  • Ensure reconciliation between local datasets and nationally submitted data are aligned.
  • Co-ordinate the collection of data for each pathway, extraction and validation.
  • Analyse clinical information project performance and other quality performance programmes, identifying areas for improvement in line with national and local priorities.
  • Act as clinical information champion, developing and maintaining effective communication and liaising with multi-disciplinary staff, educating and supporting staff in the implementation of pathways, where appropriate.
  • Ensure relevant data is submitted in a timely manner for each project in the Corporate Information Department remit.
  • Provide information to the Executive Lead and the Trusts Contracts and Commissioning Lead for monthly board report and CQUIN data, where appropriate.
  • Attend monthly validation meetings in order to report accurate performance
  • Hold and attend regular meetings with the Trusts Clinical Leads, Directorate Managers and Clinicians for the clinical information projects, where appropriate.
  • Support and attend Trauma and Orthopaedic Clinical Governance meetings.
  • Undertake audits to verify accuracy and quality of data and ensure that any discrepancies or issues are fed thro
