An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Finance Officer to join the Global Opportunities Office at the University of Wolverhampton.


International Finance Officer responsibilities:


  • Maintenance of accurate and up to date budget records, preparation of reports for budget holders within Global Opportunities Office.
  • To act as the business partner for the Global Opportunities Office, Home Recruitment and Partnerships, and the Admission Services with the University's finance department to ensure effective liaison through monthly budget meetings; meaning work orders are monitored and expenditure recorded correctly, forecasting is accurate and adjusted throughout the financial year.
  • To adhere to the University's financial yearend timetable and working with the University's finance department to secure accurate financial yearend reserves.
  • To ensure agent commission invoices are thoroughly checked against the income data, working with departmental colleagues for student enrolment checks.
  • To produce information to feed into the department's strategic reports, financial planning rounds, ROI requests.
  • Coordinating staff travel expenses, checking all expenditure incurred by Global Opportunities' colleagues via their expenses card is reconciled in an agreed format for submission to the Head of Financial Operations on a monthly basis.
  • To be a Purchasing Card holder for the department and ensure all receipts are uploaded in good time, description provided and spend is adhered to as per the Purchasing Card Policy.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • High level of accuracy with a meticulous approach to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills including planning and prioritising in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex data, highlight trends and anomalies and provide comprehensive reports.
  • Experience of formulating financial and operational plans and producing financial reports for different audiences.
  • Financial experience with knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, purchase order and invoice systems.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others; to deal effectively with difficult situations. To be able to articulate clearly and present complex information in a simple manner.
