We are a friendly, family orientated GP practice with 9500 patients, rated Good by the CQC. We are committed to providing high quality care to our patients.

We are currently looking for two enthusiastic, reliable and flexible people to join our Reception Team at Alexander House Surgery.

The shift patterns available are as follows:

• Be adept at answering questions and dealing with patient queries
• Complete administration tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Be motivated and work well as part of a team, but also able to work independently and make their own decisions

Job responsibilities

• To represent the surgery as a first point of contact via the telephone and on the reception desk, and to liaise between patients and the clinical team
• To make appointments for patients to see either a doctor, nurse or other health professional (including Nurse Practitioners, Orthopaedic Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and Mental Health Workers) over the telephone or via the reception desk
• To take accurate messages from patients or other health professionals and record and communicate them appropriately
• Maintain high standards of appearance for the front of house areas including waiting room and reception desk

Previous experience of working in a medical practice and using EMIS Web (a medical computer system) is desirable but not essential_.
