The Materials, Planning and Logistics Manager is looking to fill the role of Production Planner in their Rotherham facility.

The Production Planner will be responsible for planning and preparing the production schedule on site to ensure the customer orders and SLAs can be consistently met.

IPL Rotherham is part of the IPL Group and is a well-established, leading plastic injection moulding manufacturer.

The Role:


  • Plan and prepare the Production schedule to achieve customer requirements.
  • Manage the internal filing of live orders and the efficiency tracker to assess production performance against planned output.
  • In conjunction with the Logistics Coordinator, ensure that products are delivered efficiently, on time and in full
  • Through the use of bespoke systems, produce work orders for the production process
  • Plan effectively and efficiently by understanding minimum and maximum stock levels against "Stock items" and replenish these when required
  • Liaise with the Stock Controller to ensure that demand can be met whilst ensuring stock levels remain at the required level
  • Lead the weekly planning meetings with sales to ascertain, availability of future planned runs to generate orders.
  • Ensure that primary machine utilisation does not drop below 85%.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role (essential), with experience as a Production Planner / Scheduler being beneficial
  • Strong communication, written and oral skills, with the ability to work well as part of a multi disciplinary team
  • A good level of IT skills with the ability to utilise the Microsoft suite of packages and in house systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload with a high level of organisation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
