Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is currently recruiting for a Band 2 Administrator within the Talking Therapies - Somerset IAPT Service.
We require a friendly and enthusiastic, skilled individual, with excellent interpersonal skills.The role will be to enter referrals administratively over the telephone with patients, booking appointments with the patients and related data entry.
In addition, liaising with team practitioners and local support staff in surgeries and community centres where our clinical interventions are offered.
To work as an integral member of the Talking Therapies Service by providing effective administrative support. To work in accordance with Trust policies and to ensure services are sensitive to patients' needs.Main Contacts:

- GPs, Consultants and other Clinical Specialists referring into the service.
- Extended Scope practitioners.

- Register and process each referral promptly on computer including referral date, name of referrer etc, Act as instructed regarding
- Be aware that the majority of this work will contain detailed clinical/medical information and use clinical/medical terminology. To be
- Book patients' appointments by telephone or letter and to be aware that some patients may have difficulty in understanding.
- Deal with queries or complaints appropriately and to be aware of sensitive and/or complicated information. To deal sensitively with
- Provide information and advice to patients, carers and relatives concerning appointments and to ensure that any cancellation slots are
- Undertake secure and confidential storage of records accurately and efficiently.
- Enter Emotional Health and Well Being data accurately on to the relevant IT systems.
- Be involved in the implementation of new computerised administration system.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality initiatives.
- Undertake photocopying provision/resources for the Talking Therapies Service
- Manage own workload on a daily basis, independently and to demonstrate the flexibility required to respond to interruptions and
- Participate in the staff appraisal scheme as an appraisee and be responsible for complying with agreed personal development plans to
- Participate in team meetings
- Responsible for the safe and correct use of equipment within the department reception area.
- Ensuring staff are competent to use the equipment.
- Be flexible in working location and be able to travel from main base to sub bases within the county.
