What does the role involve?
You'll be working as part of a small and friendly local HR team.

Reporting to one the Senior HR Business Partner you'll be providing HR support and advice to colleagues and people leaders across our Newbury and Trowbridge locations.

Day-to-day you'll be looking after a varied ER caseload, and there'll also be opportunities to support organisational development, talent management, and participate in groupwide projects to support the delivery of our People Plan.


This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours per week with a choice of completing your hours over 3-5 days.

It's also a fixed term contract role up to 1-year to cover maternity leave.

You'll be supporting colleagues in two locations - Newbury and Trowbridge and can choose to be based at either site, with travel to both locations as the role requires.


Some of your key duties will include:

  • Advising and providing appropriate and practical support to enable the effective management of people performance issues
  • Supporting the HRBP in delivering the peoplerelated aspects of organisational change
  • Provide coaching and support for managers to help them to do the right thing with Disciplinary, Capability and Grievance processes, building ownership and capability for managing their people
  • Acting as a key contact for employee lifecycle events such as maternity, flexible working, occupational health and engaging People Services for any contractual queries
  • Managing the Exit interview process and provide feedback through effective analysis

What are we looking for?
You're at home when working in a people-focussed HR team. You've got great listening and observation skills and are good at seeing situations through different points of view.

You're also likely to have the following:

  • Experience of case work management, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management and wellbeing,
  • Capable of providing suitable advice/guidance in all areas of HR Policy and practice
  • A keen interest in employee relations and a desire to learn more
  • Continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to adapt to change
