Management Accountant - £26,000 - £30,000 Per Annum - Norwich
  • 18 Month Fixed Term Contract


Reed Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a local authority in the Norwich area who require a
Management Accountantto join their finance team.


The
Management Accountant will undertake to prepare the initial management accounts, supporting the Finance Business Partner and conducting any analysis required by the business.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the
Management Accountant will work predominately with the Transactional teams (Finance HR & Payroll) as well as the operational business where required to support the analysis/bridge of operationalto financial information - including but not limited to payroll costs - components, FTE and hours


Role in summary:


  • Preparation of initial management accounts ensuring coding from system driven information is clearly captured, posted correctly and presented clearly to enable a review of the results.
  • Preparation of detailed schedules to support balance sheet (prepayments, accruals, etc)
  • Assist with the compilation of operational data (staff hours, etc) to support interpretation of the accounts
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation and posting of journals
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Prepare detailed analysis for the forecasts & budgets as required by the FBP
  • Prepare a breakdown of cost base and income to the extent possible from analysis
  • Provide detail/evidence or adhoc analysis to auditors as and when requested
  • Utilise background knowledge and awareness of Corporation Tax and VAT to advise business units as applicable
  • As required by the FBP, work with the process and transactional teams to provide specific analysis or tasks.
  • Undertake continuous professional development within the industry
  • AAT Qualified, working towards ACCA (or equivalent) qualification
  • Knowledge / Understanding of Corporation Tax & VAT
  • Proven experience within a previous management accountant role
  • Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet schedules periodically in a commercial environment
  • Ability to work to your own initiative in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent documentation skills, capable of providing accurate data and reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook

Schedule and Benefits:
