About the Role
We require a Counter Assistant to serve customers within our catering operations in a polite and efficient manner.

This role is predominately front of house, serving customers and preparing beverages and will also include back of house food preparation and maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment.

We pride ourselves on delicious food and excellent customer service whilst delivering significant social impact as part of Blackburne House Group.

About You
We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service working between
Clatterbridge Café and Blackburne House Bistro. You will be a team player with good communication skills.

We are looking for someone flexible and adaptable, who may be required to work events outside of standard working hours.

£10.52 per hour

Key activities and responsibilities

Operational
Assisting with the preparation and serving of all meals and beverages to customers
Ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy
Ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed
Maintaining outstanding levels of customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding company assets
General cleaning of the food areas
Awareness of Blackburne House Group activities and promotion of services we provide


Health and Safety
To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times and any faults or incidents are reported to the Duty Manager
Maintain standards of hygiene whilst preparing foods and when cleaning equipment
Maintain allergenic food standards
To operate/use all kitchen equipment in a safe manner
Proper use of knives/slicers, etc, as appropriate.


Person Specification

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to accurately process information/merchandise through the till system with a good standard of numeracy
  • First class communication skills and demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to demonstrate great teamwork
  • Good knowledge and adherence to basic food hygiene guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of the kitchen layout and use of kitchen equipment
  • Resilient with a flexible attitude to working as you may be required to be available for events outside normal working hours
