We are seeking a motivated and technically-savvy individual to join our team as a Mobile Wheel Alignment Engineer for Commercial Vehicles.

In this role, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites and performing wheel alignment on commercial vehicles.

You will be required to work independently, manage your own schedule, and be comfortable driving to various locations in your region.

Mobile Commercial Wheel Alignment Technician

  • Basic Salary (£20£30k dependent on experience) + Commission. Typical OTE £30 £50k based on performance.
  • Hours: Work hours are flexible and employees are given responsibility to manage their own diaries. The role is full time, there are no fixed core hours, but some early mornings, evenings and Saturday work will be required.
  • Benefits: Company van and fuel provided as well as tools.


The role will be working from home with a company-supplied van and equipment and involves attending to various customers premises to optimise the wheel alignment of commercial vehicles.

Using specialised laser alignment equipment, the technician will measure the wheel alignment and make the necessary adjustments.

You will be based from home and cover areas around Reading area.

You will be working independently but there will be one or two other engineers in the neighbouring regions that you will liase and share jobs with.

Most work focussed around industrial and transport areas.

Ideally you will have a background in the automotive sector but comprehensive training will be given to make you an expert in Commercial Vehicle Wheel Alignment.

The role may suit someone who is currently a plant fitter, tyre fitter, mechanic, or similar who is looking for a mobile role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites and perform wheel alignment on commercial vehicles
  • Provide technical expertise on steering issues to customers.
  • Diagnose wheel alignment issues on a variety of commercial vehicles (HGVS, coaches, vans, cranes, trailers, municipal etc.).
  • Work independently and manage own schedule.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Build relationships and further develop own customer base.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and ontime.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Keep own van and equipment in excellent state of working order.
  • Commercial vehicle/ HGV mechanical or other automotive experience would be ideal but not mandatory.
  • Well organised, able to manage your own diary, collate customer jobs sheets, sales records etc.
  • Full UK Driving licence wih no or few points.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.
  • Specific wheel alignment experience would be very advantageous, however full training provided.
  • Provision of a safe place to park a company van.
