Job purpose
In this role you will be working on the BT underground network as well as our own. We clear blockages on both the BT and our own network.

To reach the end goal, getting the customer live and connected to our network, we work closely with all the teams within Lightning Fibre:
the fibre install team, MDU team (Multi Dwelling Unit), cable team and the fibre splicers. They all need our help with the civil activities required.

We deal with all elements of work in the footway and carriageway, carrying out excavation and reinstatement in the same day, unless we need to leave it open for works to be completed the following day.

Principle accountabilities and responsibilities

SWQR operative
LA location and avoidance of underground apparatus.
0 Signing, lighting, and guarding.
0 Excavation in the highway.
0 Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
0 Reinstatement of subbase and base in nonbituminous materials.
0 Reinstatement in coldlay bituminous materials.
0 Reinstatement in hotlay bituminous materials.
0 Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footway.
Working with the wider delivery team to facilitate our PIA process including NOI's reporting and network adjustments.
Ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety compliance.

Key skills and competencies

Previous telecoms build experience ie: BT network or other ISPs.
SA002 Underground safety.
SA006 PIA duct survey.
SA007 PIA subduct and cable installation.
K8 Hand rodding in the underground network.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Team player.
Highly organised.
Good communicator.
Selfconfident.
Displays a 'can do' attitude.
Detail conscious and highly accurate.
Good work ethic to get the job done right the first time.

Our broadband network can supply our standard installed customers with anything up to 10 Gigabits in both download and uploads.
