About the Role:


Our client in Chorley is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team as aHead of Bids.

This is a senior management position responsible for managing all aspects of the bidding process within their organization.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading and managing the bid team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality bid submissions within required deadlines.
  • Developing and implementing effective bid strategies to maximize success rates and win new business opportunities.
  • Coordinating with various internal departments, including engineering, procurement, construction, and sales, to gather relevant information and ensure bid compliance.
  • Reviewing bid documentation, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
  • Identifying and managing key stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships, and communicating bid progress and outcomes.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, market trends, and industry developments to inform bid strategies and gain a competitive edge.
  • Overseeing the negotiation and finalization of contracts, working closely with legal and finance teams.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Strong background in Civil Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Sales.
  • Proven track record in bidding for and winning major projects within the engineering sector.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information.
  • Strong leadership abilities, capable of leading and motivating a team.
  • Highly analytical with excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for bid management and documentation.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in Engineering or related fields.
