Amey has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Recruiter to join our Transport Infrastructure recruitment team.


Amey Transport Infrastructure supports National Highways, Local Authority Highways, Highways Scotland, and Rail customers, striving to enhance journeys and communities by ensuring safer roads, smoother railways, and cleaner public spaces.

Our local teams excel in integrated highway design, well-maintained streets, modern lighting, and efficient winter maintenance.

As a Senior Recruiter, you will spearhead internal recruitment efforts for our Local Authorities and Technical Solutions portfolio. Your role involves driving strategies to attract top-tier diverse talent, from Highways Maintenance Operatives to Principal Operations Managers. Additionally, you'll provide crucial account management support to senior stakeholders, aligning staffing needs with innovative sourcing techniques.

The position entails 37.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis.

You will be responsible for:


  • Devise and execute innovative recruitment strategies, including unique headhunting techniques, management of marketing collateral, and broader external initiatives, to attract toptier talent for technical and nontechnical positions.
  • Forge robust connections with hiring managers and key senior stakeholders to grasp their hiring requirements and offer strategic advice.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to maintain the competitiveness and efficacy of our recruitment approaches.

We want to hear from you if you have:

You will possess experience in high-volume recruitment, coupled with the ability to implement strategic approaches for hard to fill roles, including innovative headhunting techniques, and a proven track record of relationship building.

Building strong connections with senior stakeholders is key. You have experience in fostering and maintaining these relationships while prioritising tasks and staying organised during peak periods.

Additionally, this home-based position requires a full UK driving license and a willingness to travel to various job sites.

From shadowing and attending senior management meetings to engaging with teams and visiting sites, these activities will provide invaluable insights into our accounts, working culture, and help strengthen stakeholder relationships.
