Description
We are looking for a Maintenance and Facilities Assistant to deliver a professional and reliable facilities service to all our sites as part of the MKS facilities team and to ensure our clients receive a gold star service when visiting our offices.
Our 6 offices span across South East UK in London City, London West End, St. Albans, Romford, Heathrow and Redhill.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out general building maintenance duties to ensure the site meets the required standard such as;
- Painting jobs across all offices
- Basic plumbing repairs and lamp changing.
- Perform minor repairs on company appliances, machines, and equipment
- Grounds maintenance, such as litter picking and leaf sweeping
- Machinery cleaning.
- Carry out various fabric maintenance related tasks
- Undertake regular inspections of the offices to ensure that all defects are logged with the helpdesk and appropriate action taken.
- Porterage services
- Cover other Facilities team members, when required
- Provide site cover for maintenance visits and events
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers.
- Oversee and supervise contractors whilst on site(s), ensuring that they are operating in line with agreed processes and procedures
- To have a good understanding of the workings of the BMS system at Appold street, and its function and to manage changes on a daytoday basis.
- Manage and maintain the COSHH register in relation to the use of all products.
- Observe and comply with the Health and Safety Policy
- Carry out health and safety checks at offices, ensuring any faults or hazards are recorded and rectified by the appropriate person.
- Other reasonable duties, as requested by the Facilities Operations Manager or the Head of Facilities.
- Experience working in a Front of house position.
- Building maintenance and 'Handyman' experience.
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with a 'can do' attitude.
- Good interpersonal and customer care skills.
- Problemsolving skills, proactive and forward thinking
- Ability to work collaboratively, in a team environment
- Strong communication skills; verbal and written
- Selfmotivated, resilient and levelheaded
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel etc.
- Willing and able to travel to all our offices
- An IOSH certificate, similar or willing to take a course (supported by MKS)
