The Seagull Inn Is one of the largest entertainments and events venues in Brean.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Cooks to work with our experienced Chefs.

Applicants should be confident working in busy commercial kitchens and able to work well in high pressure environments, whilst maintaining high levels of productivity, cleanliness and expected food quality.

Applicants should be keen to learn from our experienced chefs, with the ability to follow instructions quickly and effectively. We would like applicants to be enthusiastic about food and service. As a family run business, we are happy to listen to all potential ideas for specials and menu development.

Assistant cooks should be comfortable following recipes provided by our head chef, assisting during service, be it plating up dishes, or manning the buffet areas.

Applicants should be comfortable using a knife, and prepping a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and basic menu items. We are happy to provide training if you require this.

Ideally, applicants should have a Health and Hygiene level 2 qualification or higher.

Expected Duties:
- preparing ingredients for cooking
- assisting in the day to day/ shift to shift organisation of the kitchen and service areas
- ensuring food health and hygiene regulations are adhered to
- assist with the preparation of dishes
- assist with the open up/close down of the kitchen
- ensure deliveries are put away in a timely manner, in the correct places

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 7 months

Salary:
£8.12-£11.44 per hour
