Description

Local Unit & Position Description:
Renewable Projects is a growing team of almost 50 experts in DNV's UK & Ireland region. We are actively solving the biggest challenge of our time, the energy transition. We provide specialist consulting and assurance to the renewable industry for on and offshore wind, solar and storage.

Through 2023 and into 2024 we are looking to strengthen our teams and expand our capability further into the electrical networks and systems which enable renewable electricity generation.

Our work is primarily a mixture of due diligence, owner's engineering and technical consulting.

As consultants, driven by the fast-paced energy market, we are asked to solve a wide range of customers' challenges from equipment inspections to failure investigations and training.

Our primary market is the UK & Ireland, with key hubs in Bristol, London, Glasgow and Dublin.

However, we also collaborate with colleagues across the globe, sharing our knowledge and expertise, to help deliver critical projects for our customers around the world.

Why work with us?

Across DNV, we have a wealth of experience in all energy vectors and with over 4,300 people working to deliver the energy transition, our expertise covers the full breadth and depth of the energy value chain.

What you would be doing:

In offshore wind, our senior consultants fulfil a range of roles on a variety of projects.

You'll be responsible for leading our engagement with key customers, getting to the heart of their challenges and proposing appropriate solutions; then, once the solution has been defined and agreed with the customer, you'll collaborate with our expert teams to deliver it.

On any given day, you might be optimising the operations and maintenance strategy of an offshore wind farm, appraising the risks of a wind farm on behalf of finance customers as part of a project transaction, or helping to develop advanced tools and data for offshore wind farm assessment.

Our engineers and consultants are also expected to take on project and bid management as part of their work.

You'll often find yourself project managing your own projects while providing your technical expertise as a team member for other projects.

We appreciate that not everyone will have been exposed to such a broad range of opportunities and activities, so we provide comprehensive technical, project management and sales training to support and develop your skills as you progress your career with us.

There are travel opportunities too for engaging with customers and visiting project sites as part of your role. These are mostly around the UK & Ireland but as a global organisation, occasionally may take you further afield.

Position Qualifications:

What we look for:

Our colleagues come from a vast range of different backgrounds, and we value the diversity of experience, knowledge and thought that this brings to our approach.

We therefore try to keep our mandatory requirements to a minimum.

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders in our customers and contractors and through your network to identify new business opportunities and create commercial proposals.
  • Ability to manage projects on your own initiative and collaborate with wider multidisciplinary teams, to meet deadlines.
  • Hold a science or engineering degree.

What you will receive in return:

We value all our people and the contributions they make to our business, so it's important that our rewards make us all feel valued here.
