Role & responsibilities:
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manufacture components utilising instructions within a production pack
  • Progress manufacturing in line with production schedule
  • Ensure all production documentation adheres to the relevant quality standard
  • Confirm conformance of finished work to specifications
  • Use measuring instruments such as micrometres, calipers, dial indicators and gauges
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) within a production pack

General:

  • To promote effective communication between your functional area and other areas of the business
  • Maintaining high levels of personal motivation and development, advising line manager of personal training requirements to enhance achievement of job role
  • Post holder's duties must be carried out in accordance with policies and procedures of AML.
  • Perform any other duties which may be required within the role to meet the needs of the company

Employer description:

AML is managing rapid growth in the aerospace, defence and energy sectors. Key resources are in place for further investment and expansion in our advanced manufacturing capabilities as required.


Things to consider:


During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.

You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.

After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.

The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.


Qualification Requirements:


Advanced apprenticeship entry requirements:

You will need
both of the following:


  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above on the
    Higher Maths paper only


Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
