Software Engineer - Python, C++, Verification - To 50K + Bonus
Lorien's client, very commutable from Edinburgh and the surrounding region, is looking to recruit the skills of a Software Engineer on a permanent basis.
You'll use your practical skills and strong knowledge of the domain - as well as Python, C++, Linux andSoftware Verification - to play a key and varied role as part of their R&D tech function, and develop and maintain some of their great product line used around the globe.
Given the different products within the portfolio, there's also great scope for you to gain skills across C# and Windows, so this would be ideal if you're wanting to learn and progress both professionally and technically in a supportive organisation well knownfor internal promotions.

Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong Software Engineering skill set, ability to work in an Agile team and a strong grasp of: Python, C++ and Linux
- A background in formal software verification and unit testing
- Ideally past dealings in C# / ASP.Net and Windows or willingness to learn with assistance
- A bonus would be any knowledge of QT, as well as Docker, Jenkins and/or Bamboo
- Ability to liaise with customers to discuss technical issues, requirements, and other relevant areas
An outline of the role:
- Identify and implement improvements to core software products, development processes and wider practices in the tech function
- Gather requirements for new features and create relevant technical specifications
- Design new features as well as enhancing existing ones, ensuring your work stays true to functional and nonfunctional requirements
- Verification, unit testing, and improving existing automated test frameworks
- Debugging any issues that may arise in products both being developed and out in the field already
