The purpose of this role to:

To take the lead in the management of the Outfit and Arrangement Capability for the Naval Architecture business unit and, specifically, the FSS design A&O design lead.
To act as a Project Management champion within the naval architecture business unit, ensuring implementation of BMT policy and best practice.
To provide professional engineering services, consistent with the qualities of a Chartered Engineer, in support of executing the work assigned by line management; whilst displaying the requisite behavioural competencies consistent with the Global Career Levels, as well as fulfilling the aspiration, mission and values of BMT and the strategic business objectives.
To use deep or wide knowledge of technical or functional capability to influence policy, strategy formulation and business thinking and the agenda for business planning and continuous improvement.
To hold significant responsibility for leading or managing a large area of the business or major highrisk projects across a range of disciplines and business environments.
To Lead and manage complex client bids and proposal teams and provides key technical input to complex bids.
To formulate contracts and hold successful negotiations.
To be focused on local business growth and contribute significantly to BMT's performance.
To support the development of strategic options for the business and the implementation of actions to meet the strategic business objectives.

To take an active part in their own development, participating in and maintaining current in the field of Naval Architecture and project management.
