As an
Accounts Payable Assistant, you'll support the AP Manager with the running of a very busy Accounts Payable department.

The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices.

You will provide a comprehensive, effective, efficient and accurate range of services to the accounts payable department with emphasis on processing.


Our office is based in Manchester, however we will provide the opportunity to work flexibly between the office and from home.

What will you be doing:


  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices
  • Reconcile a large volume of accounts, keeping them tidy and up to date
  • Ensuring information is entered onto the system accurately and efficiently with mínimal errors
  • Ensuring invoices processed are approved in accordance with company rules
  • Ensuring information entered is compliant with VAT and tax rules
  • To maintain a clean and accurate electronic filing system for audit purposes
  • Efficiently and professionally respond to internal and external queries, raising other team members awareness where necessary
  • Reconcile supplier statements and be able to investigate further if something doesn't reconcile
  • To continually strive to ensure our processes are as efficient as possible and constantly seek to improve areas which are not
  • Participate and support the culture of TCEG
  • Adhere to TCEG's business code of conduct and comply with all regulatory Company policies and procedures
  • Provide a courteous, professional and friendly service support to all internal & external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of customer service

What you need to have:


  • Effective and professional communication skills both internally and externally
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own workload within set deadlines
  • Proficient with the company's financial processes
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Numeracy and commercial awareness
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Sage 200
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • A cando attitude, not afraid to get stuck in
  • A genuine interest in accounting and an investigative mind to be able to spot abnormalities
  • Adaptability, able to cover other team members if needed
  • Display a strong sense of initiative to be able to work independently and assess what tasks should take priority
