Description

The Pre-Operative Assessment Pathway Co-ordinator will monitor and lead on the administrative duties of the Pre-Operative Assessment Screening Programme for the Centralised Surgical Pre-assessment service at Denmark Hill.

This includes providing the first point of contact for all EPIC and Envoy Messenger related issues.


The post holder will be expected to prioritise conflicting work demands and effective working with the Pre-Assessment team, the multi-disciplinary team, internal departments and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.


Distribute electronic Patient screening questionnaires and administer in a line with deadlines and requirements as set out in Trust Polices.

Implement and maintain an efficient internal system and process to ensure the pre-operative.

Identify from the EPIC program the next step in the patient's Pre-assessment in line with clinical need.


To monitor and update the Fit/Unfit and DNA Tracker for all POA clinical activity and inform all relevant services in a timely manner.

Administrative Responsibilities:


Distribute electronic Patient screening questionnaires and administer in a line with deadlines and requirements as set out in Trust Polices.

Implement and maintain an efficient internal system and process to ensure the pre-operative assessment pathway is smooth.

Monitor and review patients Pre-operative assessment progress using the Patient Tracking list in line with Trust and local polices.

Identify from the EPIC program the next step in the patient's Pre-assessment in line with clinical need.


To monitor and update the Fit/Unfit and DNA Tracker for all POA clinical activity and inform all relevant services in a timely manner.


To support and monitor all clinics are cashed up / outcomed in a timely fashion by using Trust available reporting tools.


Update on all enquiries regarding patients' care and/or treatment on a pathway from external Trusts and General Practitioners in a timely manner.

Systems and Data Management

Identify and suggest improvements that can be made to the electronic Pre-Assessment pathway.


Ensure that all data is inputted and/or uploaded accurately into the computerised hospital administration system administration system (EPIC) in a timely manner.
