Are you an established business-leader in the construction industry, looking for an exciting new opportunity?


Our client is a well-established supplier of Construction and Building supplies and tools, with over 20 years of experience based in
East-Cornwall.

We are looking to recruit a
General Manager (Business Operations) to lead their well-established team. This is a new role, devised to support the board of Directors with their ever-expanding business.


The main purpose of the role will be to plan, coordinate and manage all business operations to achieve the company goals, whilst ensuring the business runs in a profitable, safe and culturally strong manner.


Salary:
£60,000 - £70,000 per annum, dependent on experience.


Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some out-of-hours work required as necessary.


Location:
The company Head-Office based in East Cornwall


While this is a new role, and will be in continuous development, responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating and managing business operations to achieve the company's goals.
  • Assisting with budget preparations and expense management
  • Oversee and assist with marketing plans
  • Develop strategies to improve productivity & efficiency
  • Schedule regular team meetings to discuss concerns, recommendations and company updates
  • Assisting with recruitment, training, development and performance evaluation
  • Ensuring all employees follow procedures and policies
  • Generating company reports and sending them to management & Directors
  • Providing employees with direction and support within their job roles
  • Health and safety management
  • Oversee property and facilities maintenance
  • Previous experience of managing a company with 30+ staff and a turnover in excess of £5m.
  • Some understanding of the construction industry
  • An understanding of businesstobusiness and client relationships
  • Ablility to manage and lead a wellestablished team
  • Flexible to their approach to building this newlycreated role.
