About us_

In July 2021 The Golden Duck was born in Rickmansworth. Our first bar on a historic site Rickmansworth Cricket club. We are recognised as being one of the places that hold the most beer taps in the area.

The bar is known for its distinctive speak easy style decor as well as playing host to some of the best breweries from around the world.

We currently partner with some of the best independent street food companies for events and offer a delicious selection of coffee and other snacks.

The kitchen is currently being fitted out to host resident chefs to offer something special to clients and surrounding area.

We have a large outdoor area available for private bookings and cater for a lot of parties and events inside the bar.

We are also currently running 3 to 4 music gigs a month and growing in popularity.

Full Job Description_


You will Report to the Venue Manager, As Weekend Supervisor you will assume the responsibility for managing the individual events from open to close at Golden Duck Taproom, a new refurbished Craft beer tap room and event space in Rickmansworth.

You will manage the staff and the atmosphere of the night and ensure that our customers receive a positive customer experience from our front of house team.

This role will be around 20-30 hours a week and will be Fri - Sun as we are closed on Mon - Wednesday Evening and weekend flexibility is important for this role.

Role and Responsibilities_

  • Opening and closing the venue and overseeing the atmosphere, sound quality and ambience of the night
  • Ensuring the venue and décor set up correctly
  • Brief all staff on their responsibilities preopening and on shift
  • Cashing up of all tills
  • Ensure the completion of incident reports relating to all incidents

Other Responsibilities_

  • Ensuring Health and Safety policies and practices are adhered to across the venue for staff and customers.
  • Being a point of contact for London Fire Brigade Inspections if they occur during trading hours.
  • Cellar & stock management
  • Kitchen is kept clear and clean at all times

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS_


Necessary:


  • You will need to have a strong supervisor background which has focused on team development and have at least 1 years management experience
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you have developed excellent people management skills and that you can motivate and build a good team environment which is relaxed yet productive
  • Due to the nature of the role and the long hours involved you will need to be used to and enjoy working in a late night environment
  • You will be a creative and organised team player
  • You will have a proven track record in the pubs & bars industry

Desirable:


  • Knowledge of craft beer and cask ale
  • A good knowledge of stock management and cost control measures
  • A good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Liquor, premises and personal license knowledge
  • Personal license holder
