Job purpose


The Head of Operational Excellence will be a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to vision and direction of the business.

As the department head they are responsible for setting the strategy and executing against it.


In addition the role will also have responsibility for driving productivity through the UK & Ireland businesses as well as ensuring best practice is consistently implemented across all departments.

Location

United Kingdom - With regular travel expected.

Duties and responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Number one priority is a clear focus on QHSE ensuring a safety culture visible throughout the business.
  • Identify and demonstrate effective leadership values and styles in achieving personal and company goals in line with the company vision, mission and values.
  • Provide leadership to ensure effective change management and continuous improvement driving best practice forward throughout the business.
  • Develop and lead KPI's in line with business requirements.
  • Lead and direct cross functional teams on communication, operational planning, documentation, milestone tracking and handover process for implementation of new windfarms, new technologies and new service offerings.
  • Oversee the management of all new projects from initial consultation, tenders, project management through to handover to the operations team.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee the financial budgets. Driving efficiency and ensuring optimum cost/income ratio.
  • Build effective relationships at all levels to ensure collaboration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of internal business processes (Financial Systems, Supply Chain) and their interrelationships to ensure focus is on a common goal.
  • Utilise Project Management and Business Process Management disciplines for successful, onbudget and ontime initiatives delivery.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements
Essential

  • At least five years of related experience required, with highlevel management experience preferred.
  • Ability to coach and influence others
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the company
  • Experience in customer liaison and customer service
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
  • Selfmotivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multitask and operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressure.

  • Proven business capability with strong financial and commercial skills
  • Strong customer relationship skills with an ability to drive growth and new business
  • Excellent financial acumen with strong P&L, balance sheet and cash focus

  • Resilience, resourcefulness and ability to influence at all levels, including MD and board level on decisions which can impact the bottom line
