We have job opportunities for long term and short term TAs to work across Primary and Secondary schools in Sefton.

**Job Description: - To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children with moderate and complex special needs under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff.

Support children with specific individual learning needs, encouraging them to learn and building their confidence and independence
Enabling access to learning for all pupils
Give assistance and support in classroom and manage behaviour.
To have specific responsibility to support the teaching and learning of a child with moderate/complex special needs and or physical disabilities
Recording and reporting pupils progress to the Teacher
Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
Work with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists and parents where needed
Actively work with pupils towards their individual achievement and objectives and success measures.
Provide specific support to pupils dependant upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
Promote inclusion, selfesteem and independence and acceptance of all pupils

Skills and Knowledge and Training:

Appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience in working with children with speech and language needs and/or learning difficulties.
Adaptable and able to work on their own initiative
Committed to working in partnership with colleagues, other professionals and families
Good personal numeracy and literacy skills
Patience and ability build and maintain stressful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration, and demonstrate concern for their development as learners
Sensitivity and Understandin
To be able to carry out basic tasks on the computer or hand written
Confident to work in challenging environments and to manage challenging behaviour
Non Judgemental, flexible, adaptable, resilient, calm, self motivated and compassionate.
