Do you feel you can make a difference to children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds?

But, do not have necessarily school-based qualifications?
Milk Education Liverpool is recruiting Learning Support Assistant required for January 2023 and onwards.

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants with an interest in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs as well as challengingbehavior.

The Learning Support Assistant role will involve providing support to children in a Specialist Secondary School aged from 11-16 years old.

The setting is based in Woolton, Liverpool. The role is full-time and the hours are 8:30-3:30.


This Learning Support Assistant role in may require you to work with children on a one-to-one basis or a small group of children.


You will need to have:

  • Have an inner drive to want to make a difference and have a positive attitude towards their learning for the better
  • Be aware and understanding of their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

Your main duties and responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant include:

  • Ensure the pupils stay on task by enforcing positive behavior management strategies
  • Support and provide guidance to those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
  • Working alongside the teachers and parents to create individual behavioral plans
  • Acting as a role model and contribute to a safe yet fun learning environment
  • Deal with challenging situations calmly, using deescalation strategies implemented by yourself and the teacher
  • Undertaking training provided by the setting to manage behaviour further
