An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team based in Brecon.

The potential for Annex 21 to be considered for band 5 staff

We are offering the opportunity to for a Band 6 Annex 21.

To undertake a one year training programme to obtain the relevant competencies and experience to meet the role of Community mental Health Practitioner and all duties, as indicated within the job description.

The pay scale under Annexe 21 as a development post which takes 1 year and would be appointed at 75% of the top of band 6 and undertake a 1 year development plan.

If agreed to be completed over 2 years would be 70% and 3 years 65%.


You will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide specialist assessment, treatment and care to a caseload of people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties from within the local community.


  • Being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act (1983)
You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible in approach, able to work autonomously as well as with statutory and non
- statutory service providers.


Effective communication and engagement skills are fundamental to this role, as well as a current evidence-based knowledge and a commitment to working with individuals adopting a recovery approach and a commitment to working within a trauma informed model of care.
