Description

The Trust Senior Quality and Compliance Lead is that of a senior NHS manager who will be required at all times to comply with the principles set out in the "Code of Conduct for NHS Managers" and the NHS Constitution.

The role will provide professional leadership and management of the quality assurance function for the Trust.

They will be responsible for leading promoting and facilitating effective quality compliance monitoring across all areas of the organisation; establishing processes and procedures trust wide for all Clinical Groups that meet the Trust's statutory responsibilities; and embedding change to improve or enhance patient safety.

The post holder will establish networks within and beyond the NHS to discover best practice and undertake horizon scanning / intelligence gathering which can be incorporated into local systems and processes to improve quality of care for patients.

The Quality and Assurance Directorate (corporate) are part of the Medical Director's office.

The Trust's Risk and Quality Assurance team provides Trust wide support across all Clinical Groups and corporate services to clinical and non-clinical colleagues in relation to risk, patient safety, compliance and general quality assurance as well as being a link to CQC and other external review bodies.

The Trust Senior Quality & Compliance Lead line manages the Quality & Compliance department, which consists of 7 team members focused on delivering the Trust's quality strategy, proactive improve patient safety through QI and audit, and maintain compliance with statutory duties and regulation.

The team work in collaboration with other Quality and Assurance teams and corporate services (e.g. Chief Nurse Office) to triangulate information from various sources in order to identify and manage themes relating to safety and quality.
