Within Calderdale the Housing Options Team assist members of the public to identify a wide range of tenancy and other housing issues and provide advice and support to residents to remain in their home or find alternative suitable accommodation if they should become homeless.


To assist in reducing homelessness across Calderdale, we are looking to recruit a Private Sector Liaison Officer to act as a single point of access for private sector landlords and to establish and provide a comprehensive tenancy liaison service.


The person appointed will work directly, both virtually and face to face, with private sector landlords and their tenants to resolve tenancy related issues promptly and appropriately.


The person appointed should have experience of working within a lettings or private sector housing setting, have knowledge of the legal processes of setting up/ending tenancies and be confident in negotiation with private sector landlords.


You will be based within the Homelessness Service and the role will include developing better relationships within the private rented sector and considering the need, development and marketing of a Private Sector Social Lettings Agency.

There will be opportunity to complete a relevant qualification funded by the Service.
