Working within Treasury will enable you to develop an understanding of the balance sheet management of the firm and how the associated risks are managed. It provides an opportunity to develop experience in a market facing function as well as gaining knowledge of funding and liquidity management.

What to Expect
Our ten week Summer Internship programme is designed to provide you with a unique insight into investment banking. Starting off with technical training, you'll gain a deep understanding of our products and markets. Then armed with this knowledge, you will have the opportunity to join Treasury.

Treasury is at the heart of all financial firms. The core purposes of the Treasury function are to manage the funding, liquidity and capital position of the entity.


The department's key responsibilities include:
Managing the firm
- 's liquidity and capital position within regulatory and internal risk appetite

  • Raising the appropriate mix of unsecured funding to support business requirements Portfolio management of the firm
- 's Liquid Asset Buffer of government bonds and other securities

  • Daytoday cash management via repo and fx swap transactions
  • Managing associated interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk Capital optimisation
- working with businesses on the capital impact of transactions


Working in Treasury provides an excellent opportunity to gain direct experience in a range of financial markets as well as developing an understanding of the wider business activity of the firm and learning about how liquidity risk is managed in a broker-dealer entity.


As part of a select intake, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best professionals in the industry and will be allocated a buddy to make sure you have all the support to get the most out of the summer internship.


Our Summer Internship Programme acts as a pipeline for our full time Analyst programme and a successful summer intern may receive an offer to join our full time Analyst Programme the following year.
