A new year and a new People Services Team

Our vision is to become a leading People Service in NHS Wales.

Therefore, we are expanding our services and are recruiting to vacancies across a range of professional backgrounds, such as Employee Relations, Recruitment and Resourcing and Organisational Design.


We have established a central Health Board Case Management team to ensure our employee relations cases are managed fairly, compassionately and consistently.

Our team Employment Relations specialists will provide expert advice and support to managers and staff across our Health Board, helping to deal with cases more timely and avoid unnecessary legal costs.


Our case specialist team is an integral part of our just and learning culture, where learning form errors is accepted practice and employees are not afraid to admit a mistake.


This post will contribute to the fulfilment of Health Board workforce objectives by providing professional expertise in employee relations case management, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, responsive and effective services to the business.


The post holder will require knowledge and skills sufficient to influence decision making on people management matters to develop and implement People strategies and policies to meet service needs, in line with legislation, national HR policy and best practice The post holder will develop and maintain regular contact with managers to support and guide managers on formal case management issues, and promoting a compassionate approach and a 'just culture'.


As a role model for the People service the post holder will also work closely and in partnership with Trade Union colleagues to support to positive changes in the workplace and the timely and reasonable undertaking of employee relations activity.

The post holder will act as a professional role model and first line support for management as required.


Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the largest health organisation in Wales, with a budget of £1.7 billion and a workforce of over 19,000 staff.

The Health Board provides primary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for the population of North Wales.


BCUHB provides a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and specialist hospital services across 3 acute hospitals, 22 community hospitals and a network of over 90 health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units.

BCUHB also coordinates or provides the work of 113 GP practices and the NHS services provided by dentists, opticians and pharmacists across the region.


The Health Board is an integrated health system which strives to excellent compassionate care delivered in partnership with the public and other statutory and third sector organisations.

BCUHB has a developed relationship with the universities in North Wales and with the University of Bangor is seeking medical school status and operates in a research-rich learning culture.
